The Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust has partnered with the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) to bring you a Buy Fresh Buy Local agricultural marketing campaign for Contra Costa and Brentwood agricultural products.  The Brentwood and Contra Costa Buy Fresh Buy Local logo and campaign tells the story of our extraordinary agricultural region and products in a way that consumers can easily recognize – through a logo that can be used by farmers, stores and restaurants to identify the products from Brentwood and Contra Costa.

How Buy Fresh Buy Local works:

1.       The Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust has worked with the community and CAFF to create the Contra Costa and Brentwood Buy Fresh Buy Local logo, partner seal and field sign.

2.       Farmers can sign up to participate in the Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign.  Participating farmers will receive initial marketing materials and a CD that contains the Brentwood or Contra Costa logo, as well as other images and information about the campaign.  Farmers can order labels, price stickers, banners, bumper sticker and other promotional materials with the Contra Costa or Brentwood Buy Fresh Buy Local logo. 

3.       The Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust, local agricultural producers groups and CAFF are working with local governments, chambers of commerce, local business and the press to promote Contra Costa and Brentwood Buy Fresh Buy Local in our communities and throughout the Bay Area.  Participating farmers will be featured in Buy Fresh Buy Local promotional events.

4.       The Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust, local agricultural producer groups and CAFF will work with retailers, farmers’ market associations and restaurants to use the Buy Fresh Buy Local logo on their grocery shelves, menus and in their advertising to identify the origin of the Brentwood and Contra Costa agricultural products they sell.

Studies show that when consumers are given information about the origin of agricultural products, they will choose to buy local product 75% of the time.  The research done through our regional marketing project overwhelmingly confirms that Bay Area consumers know that Brentwood and Contra Costa farmers grow food that is of the highest, most desirable quality.  The Brentwood and Contra Costa Buy Fresh Buy Local logo provides consumers with way to make the connection between the food they purchase and the reputation for fresh, high quality, local food that Brentwood and Contra Costa farmers have been building for generations.
